This guide will help you begin your research paper and/or project and direct you to a variety of resources at the BVU Library.

Finding Articles

Databases are subscription services that the BVU Library makes available to our community.  Databases are made up of all the information used to identify articles.  This can include the article's title, authors, date published, the journal that published it, the article summary (or abstract), and other important identifiers.

The BVU Library subscribes to over 100 databases.  These can be found on the BVU Library home page by clicking on the "Find Articles in Databases" button.  Databases can be browsed alphabetically, by subject, or by the format they cover.  Most of the time you will be best served by browsing through the databases by the subject breakdown.  If you are unsure what database matches best with your topic idea, start with a database in the "Multidisciplinary" category.  Academic Search Complete is a good starting point.
