This guide is designed to introduce new students to the services and collections of the Buena Vista University Library

Welcome to the BVU Library!

WELCOME to the BVU Library

The BVU Library is an academic resource for all BVU students, regardless of your location.  Students who live on campus can easily use our physical library, which was renovated in 2020.  Students who attend BVU online or at a site location have access to all the same services and collections as those who live on campus, but your primary gateway to the BVU Library will be the BVU Library web page.

Just inside the BVU Library's entrance, you'll find the 2fix service window.  The staff and student assistants at 2fix can assist you with computer problems.  Off-campus students can easily reach 2fix via their web page

Straight ahead from the Library entrance is the Center for Academic Excellence or CAE.  CAE staff can help connect you with a tutor for any class or help you enhance your study skills.  This is the place where good students become BETTER students!

The rest of the space is devoted to the BVU Library.  Students have ample space to study individually or with a group.  Most of our print collections are located on the second floor of the library, but our reference books and current print journals are found on the main level.  Along the north wall of the Library is a sunken area with 8 small group studies below and a balcony area with individual study carrels that overlook the main floor of the Library.  The BVU Library web page provides access to all of our collections, our services and our staff.  We look forward to working with you!
