This class guide is designed to guide students to authoritative library resources to support their assignment in comparing and designing a program that prevents juvenile offending.

Find statistics

You will discover some statistics in your background research and in the articles you locate.  But be aware that there are some resources available that focus JUST on statistics.

Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) The mission of BJS is to collect, analyze, publish, and disseminate information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government.

U.S. Census Bureau provides statistics on the demographics of the U.S. by age, race, and sex.  Other reports that may be of interest for this class include education statistics, poverty and income statistics, eimployment, and family and living arrangements.
