Not all news sources have the same level of balance and authority. Dr. Bartholomew-Feis places strong emphasis on your use of the New York Times and that should be your first place to look for current events and historical current events. If that source does not produce the results you need, you may then (and only then!) try these other news outlets FOR CURRENT EVENTS.
See the world news from a British point of view. Again, you have the ability to narrow your results to a region, or use the Search box in the upper right corner. Note: videos do not play for U.S. users.
National Public Radio World News (NPR)
Scan the latest world news or use the search function (in the black header bar) to find articles on your specific country or region. The search function allows you to search by date for the past 7 days, so this is a convenient way to locate "current events."
The Economist
This weekly British news magazine offers news and analysis on world events. BVU Library subscribes to this magazine in print. It is located on the 2nd floor of the library. To avoid browsing each issue of The Economist, you can search for articles about your country or region using the Academic Search Complete database. See the search box below for help in entering a country search efficiently. Once you've identified when the article was published, you can go to the second floor to find the issue that contains your article. You may scan articles to your email for free.
In this example, my search will find articles about Australia and climate change that are ONLY published in the Washington Post.
