Leon is an enrolled member of the
Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Rosebud S.D.,
and also a part of the
Oglala Sioux Tribe, Pine Ridge, S.D. 

Leon was awarded
the 2023 Minority Fellowship Award for
Master's Addiction Counselors by the
National Board of Certified Counselors,
the NBCC Foundation, and NAADAC.
