Library Resources for Faculty

This guide includes information for faculty to use to more easily integrate library resources into their classes and some shortcuts to make your busy lives a little easier!

Adding Materials to the BVU LIbrary

We do our best to supply the educational resources that your students will need, but our budget is modest.  If we lack an important resource needed for your classes, please communicate that need to the Library Director right away.

Book requests can be forwarded to the library at any time.  An email from you is sufficient.  There are no forms and no red tape!  We will give preference to titles that support our BVU curriculum.  Books may be ordered in either print or e-book format, with e-book format being preferred if the class is also taught online or if sections of the book would be made available in your Canvas site.  (E-books are available in a number of price tiers based on simultaneous users.  Unlimited use is preferred when it is available.)  If there are budget shortfalls, we will let you know and delay your request to the following fiscal year with your approval.

Journal requests can be forwarded to the library at any time, but generally journal subscriptions are ordered in July or August and the subscription begins the following January.  Preference will be given to titles that support the BVU curriculum AND that are indexed in a database to which we subscribe.  E-journals are the preferred format when available.

Audio-visual requests are still honored, but please check the following streaming services to see if they are available there.
