If the library book you want is checked out, first check the BVU Library Catalog for other versions of the book. Sometimes the BVU Library has more than one copy or version of an item.
If BVU does not have another copy, you have several options, depending on your time frame. You may wish to:
- Search other area libraries for an available copy. A librarian can assist you with this!
- Place a hold for the item by clicking on the Request button in the BVU Catalog. When the book becomes available, you will be notified through your BVU email. A hold should be placed only when access to the book is not urgent, and when you are willing to wait for a period of time.
- Request through Interlibrary Loan. We’ll find a library that has a copy and borrow it for you. Delivery of physical materials usually takes about 7-10 days. You will receive an email when the item is available for you to pick up.
