You can speak with a librarian at the Ask Me desk on the main floor of the BVU Library. Don't worry if we look busy! Please interrupt us--that is why we are there!
If the Ask Me desk is unattended, please check the offices just west (to the left) of the Ask Me desk and feel free to approach anyone in those offices unless they are on the phone.
When the BVU Library is open, you can chat online with a BVU librarian. Look for the green "Available" button in the upper left of the chat window to see if we are available and just type your question into the lower part of the square. We'll be notified to respond to you. If we are unavailable, it is best to email us so that we'll have your address to respond to you.
Text your library questions to us at 712.794.4288 anytime. We'll see your text as soon as the library is open.
If you prefer to meet with a BVU Librarian online or in person for one-on-one assistance, you may want to schedule a research appointment. We can help familiarize you with our resources and offer suggestions to make your research project more manageable.
Appointments are done through Microsoft Teams (very much like Zoom) and can be scheduled in advance with Jodie. No download is necessary. You'll be sent a link to join the meeting if you elect to meet with us electronically.
Some evening and weekend appointments are available during the academic semesters.
